INSTRUMENTATION
& CONTROL
CERT. III IN INSTRUMENTATION AND CONTROL

The Certificate III in Instrumentation and Control provides you with skills and knowledge in instrumentation, process automation, and control. With the skills and technical knowledge obtained from the course, students may progress into an industry that currently faces a shortage of skilled workers and is highly regarded on an international scale.
The Certificate III in Instrumentation & Control CRICOS course is delivered face-to-face in the classroom and in an adjoining workshop, with self-paced independent learning and a 480-hour work placement (internship) in the industry. Students will be provided with all learning resources and PPE. The Certificate III in Instrumentation and Control is a two-year programme, including a work placement and holiday breaks.
Why should you study Instrumentation & Control?
Electronic Instrument Trades Worker is frequently on the Medium and Long-Term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL). Electrical instrumentation technicians troubleshoot, repair and maintain the various parts needed to keep electronic machinery running smoothly and effectively. Many industrial firms now use automation practices that require highly programmed electronic equipment to do work that used to be performed by people. Because of the intensity and frequency of use of these automated machines, they are prone to encountering a range of issues and thus require experts who can upgrade, modify, and repair any problems that may occur.
Studying the Certificate III in Instrumentation & Control opens up a dynamic and rewarding career in industries such as manufacturing, energy, mining, petrochemicals, and automation. This field underpins modern industrial processes, ensuring that equipment and systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. With the increasing application of automation and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), there is a rising demand for skilled professionals in instrumentation and control. Looking ahead, employment for instrumentation technicians is expected to grow strongly. By gaining expertise in this area, you will be well-placed to secure employment in a sector experiencing a skills shortage, both in Australia and internationally.
Furthermore, the knowledge and practical skills you develop are highly transferable, offering long-term career stability and the potential for advancement into supervisory or specialist roles.
